Sunday Morning Inspiration: On Doing What It Takes…

This is about doing what it takes – imperfect implementation – and paying the price to succeed online.

After a brief intro by Maritza & I, listen to the words of Gary Vaynerchuck, author of “Crush It.” Then listen again…”there’s gold in that there video!”…and I encourage to leave your comments…

Great Sunday morning video, Jeff! You’re right, there is gold in Gary’s words. And he said something that touches on the reason why so many people fail. He’s right on the money about the sacrifices, that’s where people struggle, when they hit that spot where they have to make a decision and they find themselves unwilling to do what comes next. But here’s the paradox in that: If you are fired up and have a strong enough reason, a burning desire to win, then you will do whatever it takes to reach that goal. Or as Gary says, you’ll ‘Go all Rocky Balboa on it’!

    Hey Bob!

There is a lot of wisdom in Gary’s words and in yours as well. Going “Rocky” on something is exactly the way to make it – I think there is a little bit of Rocky in us all…after that it is a matter of directing the G*U*T*S to take it all the way.

Thanks for your comments Bob, I appreciate you!

  • Awesome triple-whammy inspiration from all three of you: Jeff, Maritza and Gary. Thanks for bringing it down from pie-in-the-sky to nuts-and-bolts of making it real. Love it!

I had watched this video on your Youtube channel and found it very interesting and informative. I am very glad to have a reminder to listen again and again I found pearls of wisdom that I had either miss the first time or needed to remember. Thank you for letting your students watch “over your shoulder”

  • I love inspirational videos such as this one. He hit it head on when he said very few people are willing to take the necessary steps that will put them over the top; lead to a victory.

But, if you are starving, then you just might take that first step. So many people fail to take one step. But, once they do, the “game” becomes a whole lot easier. And, loving what you do is powerful. If you are going to create a blog then you must absolutely 100% love your niche!

Jeff, It is oh so curious and timely how things happen. Just yesterday I read again for maybe the 5th time a book that I highly recommended for all of your readers entitled “The Ultimate Secret To Getting Absolutely Everything You Want” by Mike Hernacki.

It is a very fast read, 123 pages. I read it yesterday from cover-to-cover in the library in about 90 minutes. At some points I got so emotional that tears began running down my cheeks. (The lady sitting in front of me thought I was a “couk”.

The premise of the book is very simple and profound which consists of essentially three steps to absolute success:

    1. Know exactly what you want.

    2. Be willing to do whatever it takes

    3. Start now.

Jeff, if you have not read this book, please do so. If you have read it, read it again. You will be amazed at what you see.

    Cordially,

    Charles Prosper

  • Jeff, great inspiration for this Sunday afternoon. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi Liz!

You are so right – we often see and hear things the 2nd, 3rd or more time thru something – thanks for modeling that for us!

    Jeff

  • WOW!! I was there. So nervous about going live with my first flip video. And this is it: http://www.johnhersey.com/blog/leadership/bouncing-leadership-saboteurs

And yes, there are things I did differently the next time and I continue to adjust but once I hit ‘publish’ it started to be a lot more fun.

Jeff, I have followed you from the beginning -‘thank you’.
