SUNDAY MORNING INSPIRATION: Greatness Exists in All of Us…

Here’s something not a lot of people know about actor Will Smith – he is the ONLY entertainer to have a #1 record, a #1 TV show, and a #1 Movie. Nope, not even Elvis…

So he knows a little bit about the drive it takes to be successful.

Give this video a watch and let me know what you think…

There are so many nuggets of wisdom in this video – my favorite right now is the brick story, what’s yours?

    Hi EJ!

Love the idea of taping it to the wall, but as you say…

You are doing just what I am doing, listening to it over and over and over and picking up new and powerful gems each time!

Thanks for your Wowee! – I appreciate you…

I’ve been watching every morning and before I go to bed each day since I found it – new stuff each time.

You commented “and do not, at the end of the journey, have your dreams still in your pocket” – it makes me think of the best football players I know, who leave EVERYTHING on the field each time they play

Thanks for your comments – I appreciate you!

    Hi Evelyn!

“so I am thrilled beyond belief to see that silly, fun-loving boy has grown into such a wonderfully wise man”

Very well said Evelyn, and thanks for your comment!

I have seen the worst that can happen to me and I am still here
What ever happens in the future I can endure.

This is also my belief .
I love myself the way I am but still I want to grow.

    I feel good about myself.
    Love you

  • It’s all important but here are my top 3:

    1) Being realistic is the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity

    2) There’s no reason to have a Plan B because it distracts from Plan A

3)He who says he can & he who says he can is usually right – Confucious

    4) There’s a redemptive power to making a CHOICE and DECIDING (rather than feeling your “at effect” to things that are happening)

    5) It takes desperate, obsessive focus with all of your fiber and all of your creativity (Yep!)

    6) I’m motivated by fear of fear (This is why I’ve kayaked the Strait of Magellan & jumped off a cliff in Peru! Force myself to face my fears…)

Watched 3 times and each time I hear even better nuggets…

    Like the last scene:

“You want something? Go get it.”

I made a decision: I am watching this every morning for the next 7 days.
It is like a string of pearls…of WISDOM. I love what I read in the other comments and I would add, LIVING IS INFECTIOUS. I hear, be true to yourself and your own special talents; develop them to the best of your ability and do not, at the end of the journey, have your dreams still in your pocket. Thank you Jeff.

  • It’s funny, but as I was watching this I was thinking that I need to watch it again and again–I see great minds think alike!

I’ve been a Will Smith fan since the ‘Fresh Prince’ days, so I am thrilled beyond belief to see that silly, fun-loving boy has grown into such a wonderfully wise man.

Thanks, Jeff for sharing and you can bet I will G*U*T*S*! 😉

  • Jeff,Thanks for finding such an inspirational video and sharing it. I will be watching it 2x’s a day for a while.Just what I needed.

  • I love the permission that watching this video gives us – to stop playing small and go big. This is what “go for it” really means to me.

It reminds me of the famous quote by Marianne Williamson.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

    – Marianne Williamson –

  • Thanks so much for sharing this Jeff.

I like the concept of Make a choice. Just decide.

That is so profound because once you decide to move forward toward your dream, all things that are not part of your dream fall away or move aside.

I am very proud of Will Smith from the early days when his raps were clean, to now as he enjoys being one of the world’s most superb actors and amazing people.

Wow! I admire Will Smith and his beliefs and have used his clips in my training in personal development and emotional intelligence. Thanks for bringing these clips together Jeff. FANTASTIC!

  • There is so much wisdom in this. So many of us give up way too soon. It’s those who stay focused and not let others convince them their dream can’t be realized who become successful.

When he said he has a ridiculous work ethic, there’s part of me that admires that and another part that says – life isn’t all about work. He said when others are eating, he’s working and when others are sleeping, he’s working. I’m sure Will Smith takes time for recreation but I don’t believe working around the clock is necessarily going to get us where we want to be.

I like what he says about not having a Plan B. I think we can easily get off course if we know there’s a Plan B.

Hi Jeff – So many great nuggets. The wall, the alchemist, being realistic. My favorite is “Don’t ever let someone tell you you can’t do something. Not even me… you want something. Go get it.”

“According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a BEE should be able to fly. It’s wings are too small to get it’s fat little body off the ground. The BEE of course, flies anyway. Because the BEES don’t care what human’s think is impossible” – The BEE MOVIE

Warren – You are right, we do no one any good by playing small.

Flora – It has been great to see him grow as a man, yes?

Jenni – I can’t take credit for pulling the clips together, just for delivering them to you, and you are most welcome!

Barb – I hear ya, and yet I betcha he has a balanced life too.

Alan – Good to see you here – thanks for your comments. I appreciate you!

everything within reason …..while he said some great things that are inspiring, i think that we should always remember to be reasonable.

  • Saw this video a few weeks ago and LOVE it. Sent it to Steve and he thought it was great too. Thanks for posting

  • Confucius: He who says he can and he who says he can’t are usually right. Loved that! We ALWAYS have the choice. The question is which one do we want to be and will we commit to it. Thanks Jeff.

  • Kgirl – Thanks for your post – I guess it depends on how you define reasoonable
