SUNDAY MORNING INSPIRATION: The Johnnie Tuitel Story

I had a completely different Sunday Morning Motivation planned and loaded up for today. Then I read an article online on FoxNews.com about Johnnie Tuitel, a motivational speaker with cerebral palsy, who was kicked off a US Airways flight because he was “too disabled to fly.” He was flying to speak at a convention, and missed his gig because of the U.S. Airways decision.

So I watched this video on YouTube and Maritza and I both said “that’s the Sunday Morning Inspiration!”

Watch this video and see if you are not inspired, and have the same though I had: “I don’t have a problem in the world…”

I wonder if anyone else has watched this video, read the news story, and thought “getting kicked off the plane could be the best thing that could have happened to him”…

    If he uses it well…

I am shocked that so many “abilities” are misunderstood.

I love Johnnie’s sense of humor. It just goes to show you that nothing is impossible.

  • Jeff, This man is simply amazing!

Although I’m sure the experience was not a good one… as he’s shown in the past, he always finds the good in everything, I am sure this will help him continue to spread his message of self-empowerment for all! Thanks for the huge inspiration Johnnie!

Johnnie is an example for all of us. We all have challenges and setbacks, it is how we deal with them and how we choose to live our lives that defines us and ultimately creates our reality. Thanks for sharing this today.

    Peace,
    Bob

  • Wow – inspirational and loving. I’m a volunteer puppy-raiser with Canine Companions for Independence. He could sure make wonderful use of one our companion dogs. I’ll write to him!
    Thanks Jeff/Maritza.

I like how he says “Johnny, the world owes you nothing because you’re in a wheelchair. But you owe the world everything. And it’s your job to adapt and change when necessary so that you can join The Adventure of Life.”

I’m going to be reflecting on that for a while.

Miguel – YES! That’s the one that caught my heart too…

  • Wow! Thank you for sharing this, Jeff. This is my favorite line from Johnnie’s talk: “When You take the focus off yourself and put in on your ability to help people, it changes your life forever.” What an inspiration! Oh yeah, that’s what Sunday Morning Inspiration is all about, huh? 🙂

  • Thanks Jeff for showing us how lucky we really are and that ANYthing is possible IF we believe in it enough!

I’m always in awe of the disabled who turn it around to their advantage and make such a difference in our world!

  • I have to be very careful in listening to videos as it uses up my very limited bandwidth up here on this mountain and I usually need to save it to work. These Sunday inspirations are my exception so thanks, Jeff, for sending them to us.

This one was as great as many of them have been. Certainly humbling to those of us with no issues or disabilities to overcome other than getting in our own way to move forward and help others.

  • I love it when people challenge “Company Policies” just like this one. My sister is handicapped and has run into people making assumptions just like this one about her.

It is so very nice to see Johnnie taking action and I sure hope that Fox news will be publishing a followup!

Thanks for sharing this and spreading the awareness about these types of situations.

  • Great video!

Great example of taking one’s “strange turn in life” and transforming it into a positive!

    Great use of humor!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Someone sent this to me today because they thought he’d be great to interview. I agree. We never know how powerful we can be until we stop living with potential and start living as potent beings. I would love to interview him on our radio show; “Living Beyond Limitations with VPA” Vision, Power and Action. I’ll have to find out how to connect with him.

    Abundant Blessings

Maritza – Yeah, that could not have been much fun, but I agree, I bet he will find a way to make it work for him…
